How to tape it

Tape dry
Adhesive bonds to dry skin and nothing else. Tape up before you warm up — this one habit decides whether tape holds.

Anchor below the knuckle
Start on the segment closest to your palm and anchor with one full wrap. Never wrap over the knuckle itself.

Cross the joint
Bring the tape diagonally across the joint, wrap the segment above, then cross back down to form an X.

Tear and press flat
Tear by hand — no scissors — and press the end down. You should still be able to bend the finger, just with less travel at the end of range.
Too tight and your fingertip tingles or changes colour — take it off and start again.

Questions grapplers actually ask
Why is it only 0.3" wide?
Because that’s the width of a finger. Standard athletic tape is around 1.5" — built for wrists and ankles — so grapplers tear it lengthways to make it fit. That torn edge is where peeling starts. Pelagos is cut at finger width already, so there’s nothing to tear down.
Does it really tear by hand?
Yes. No scissors needed. The tape is designed for a clean hand-tear so you can wrap, tear and press flat in seconds — mid-session, with one hand if you have to.
How much tape do I actually get?
Each roll is 10 yards. The 1-Pack is one tin containing 3 rolls. The 3-Pack is three tins — 9 rolls — for €40 instead of €45.
Will it hold through a sweaty session?
The adhesive is sweat-resistant and the cotton is breathable. One thing worth knowing: tape bonds to dry skin. Tape up before you warm up, not after — that single habit is the difference between tape that holds and tape that slides.
Does it leave residue on my gi?
It’s designed to come off clean, without leaving adhesive on your grips or your training partner’s gi.
What sports is it for?
Built for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and No-Gi, and it works equally well for Judo, wrestling and any grip-intensive grappling.
